Catalog > Beads in Space
On May 14, 2010, Beads of Courage made bead history when it launched artist beads into space as part of the payload on the NASA Atlantis Space Shuttle, mission STS-132. The beads have been returned to earth and will be a part of a traveling exhibit to Beads of Courage member hospitals around the USA. Each child in the program will receive a pewter Beads of Courage space shuttle bead as well as a postcard with pictures of all of the beads that were on the launch.
We now have for sale, glass replica beads of some of the beads that made the trip. Each bead is a limited edition and has been handmade by the artists whose beads actually flew on the shuttle. Each replica bead will include a Beads of Courage certificate of authenticity stating the number in the series.
