May these beads remind you to shoot for the moon!
A Beads of Courage exclusive!
These handcrafted glass beads contain real moon dust!
The dust was collected in the laboratory from pieces of the lunar meteorite known as NWA 11474, which was found in the dry deserts of Northwest Africa. We know the meteorite came from the moon because examination by scientists showed its geological structure to be a close match to lunar return samples brought back from the moon by Apollo astronauts during the late 1960's and early 1970's.
The dust was donated to Beads of Courage by Geoff Notkin, star of TV’s "Meteorite Men" and Chief Executive Officer of Aerolite Meteorites, Inc., and is guaranteed authentic by him. Each bead was handcrafted by Hall of Fame Bead Artist Jeannie Cox.
